It tells the story of Neapolitan campaign, an expedition set on foot to force the French out from South Italy, depicting romantic adventures of young aide-de-camp all the way to the siege of Scylla and the affair of matchless bravery between struggling British and the besieging French.
James Grant (1822-1887) was a Scottish novelist and miscellaneous writer. He was a prolific author, writing some 90 books. Titles included The Romance of War, Adventures of an Aide-de-Camp, The Scottish Musketeers and The Scottish Cavalier. Many of his novels are about important characters and events in Scottish history. He also wrote about Scottish heroes and heroines caught in some of the most important battles across Europe.
